Job Description

Salary: £10.18- £14.25Contract Type: 40 hours per weekLocation: Bristol, BS11About the roleTheres more to being an Ocado driver than simply sitting behind the wheel. As one of our delivery drivers youll be the face of our business for the dozens of diverse Ocado customers you meet each day.This is what we call a dual site, meaning 50% of the time you will be out delivering directly for Ocado and 50% of the time you will be out delivering for our partner Morrisons.Youll work on a shift pattern that covers both early mornings (could be as early as 05:30), late evening shifts (could be finished as late as midnight) and weekends. Each day you work youll be glad to hear that your van will be pre-loaded for you alongwith a pre-loaded route before delivering our customers orders.Our drivers spend much of their working day on their own but are very much part of the Ocado team. Being a delivery driver is a physical role and you could be carrying shopping of multiple crates. Each crate currently weighing upto 18kg (equivalent to carrying9 x 2L bottles of water) and these will need to be delivered to each customer. As part of your role, youll be delivering shopping into peoples homes which can be up or down numerous flights of stairs. Please see below as an example.Monday to Saturday hours worked before 6 pm will be £10.18 per hourMonday to Saturday hours worked after 6 pm will be £11.40 per hourSunday hours worked before 6 pm will be £12.73 per hourSunday hours worked after 6 pm will be £14.25 per hourRequirementsFrom the 1st of July you will need to provide right to work documents under the new rules, which are visible here: https://www.gov.uk/ Due to business requirements you may be expected to work on Easter Sunday, furthermore we are unable to grant any holiday between the 15th of December and the 5th of January, this is due to a holiday ban as it is our busiest time of year.To work as a delivery driver at Ocado, we ask that you have the right to work in the UK and also be able to provide these documents at interview. You must be confident behind the wheel of our automatic Mercedes Sprinter vans, and have no more than six pointson your driving license and not been disqualified from driving within the last 10 years.
