Job Description

My client is currently recruiting for a Multi-trade Operative to work within their housing association located in East London.As a multi-skilled operative, you will carry out a wide range of maintenance and repairs work in a safe and responsible manner.Your duties will include undertaking a range of routine and planned maintenance repairs in residents home likely to involve one or a combination of the following trades: Plumbing, Carpentry, Internal/external doors repairs including locks, Joinery, Painting/Decorating,Plastering, Wall and Floor Tiling.The ideal candidate will be DBS compliant. Ideally, you will have a recognised qualification or proven experience in a core trade and experience and knowledge in a range of other maintenance tasks. You will also have experience of completing repairs firsttime right and undertaking work using the national Schedule Of Rates (SOR). You will be able to fault find and accurately diagnose and repair work, deliver a high standard of customer care to our residents and be able to work well as part of a team.Due to the nature of the role, you should be physically fit and be able to lift up to 25kg and carry and transport tools and other equipment.Main purposes of the Job To carry out a high standard of repairs to tenanted and leaseholder dwellings, communal areas and empty properties as required The provision of a high standard of repairs and maintenance service to primarily tenanted and occasional to leasehold dwellings in accordance with the clients organisation’smanagement agreement with the council. Work with the Repairs Supervisor to identify planned maintenance programme of works on the estate Share all relevant information pertaining to day to day maintenance work undertaken with the clients administrative team to ensure such information informs stock condition records and forward planning Work with the clients administrative team to ensure that relevant repairs data is captured and recorded on the housing management system and used effectively for decision making purposes As one of the first point of contact with the residents to demonstrate a high level of customer service at all timesMain duties and responsibilitiesIdentifying and managing repairs/materialsCarry out responsive repairs; the list of tasks provided gives an indication of the range of works you would be expected to undertake but is not exhaustive Responsible for ensuring adequate stock level is in place at all times Identify the correct materials required for each job to guarantee work is completed ‘first time right’. Planning ahead by looking at scheduled works for the week to ensure adequate arrangements are in place to complete jobs as scheduled Keep the Repairs Supervisor/administrative team informed of completed jobs at the end of each dayRoutinely diagnose repair problems and supports the Repairs Supervisor with diagnosing complex repairs Liaise with residents regarding access and scope of work Provide wider support to the TMO’s weekly estate inspections as needed so as to add value Routinely acts as the TMO’s ‘eyes and hears’ on the ground by reporting potential tenancy breaches; health and safety concerns identified across the estateThe role will be a temporary role with the possibility of the role going permanent in time.The hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.The pay is £17 per hour.If you are interested, please do apply!
