Job Description

Technical Project ManagerLocation:Hybrid Working 1 Day in LondonDuration:6 months initiallyRate:£450.00 - £550per day pay depending on experienceReed Professional Services is a Management Consultancy, technology services, and outsourcing company specialising in IT, financial services, and associated sectors. We are working with the worlds leading public service broadcaster on an exciting new opportunityto find a project manager to work with them on a back-end project which will involve replacing the current back-end VMWare and looking to invest in new hypervisor hardware, outsourcing to a cloud-based service, or moving services to the clients existing VMWareinfrastructure (IaaS).This is a contract position for a Technical Project Manager starting ASAP for 6 months initially.Requirements:

  • Engagement with suppliers Chyron & DTN to evaluate options for backend refresh.
  • Determine: Consultancy/professional services costs (outside of renewed service provision); projected costs of options, including hardware/cloud or on prem hosting; timeline for trial; costs for news finance to fund plan/test stage; infosec approval of solutions.
  • Test and trial favoured option(s) through: Engagement with Graphics & Automation to align with Tech Strategy; engagement with Graphics Tech Ops to set up test and consider costs for rollout; potential engagement with IAAS around hosting solution on thebroadcast-customer suitable network; engagement with WeatherSuite users to accept proposal.
  • Client machine refresh, prioritising hardware that is in the most need of replacement (forecaster machines for example)
  • Plan & Execution of Upgrade for sites incl. the balance of redundancy between Salford & London:
  • Timeline for implementation; project co-ordination; rollout.
  • Experience working with VMWARE and backend technology is ideal.
