Job Description

  • Managing new temporary and permanent service connections.
  • Disconnecting of existing services.
  • Abandoning the existing utility apparatus.
  • Managing the diversion of existing utility assets.
  • Protecting existing utility assets.
  • Providing data collection and surveys.
  • Drawing development.
  • Providing reports.
  • Managing design procurement and technical review.
  • Overseeing the programme development and planning.
  • Monitoring and management of the delivery of our services against the programme.
  • Managing commercial review.
  • Providing utility asset construction methodology review.
  • Overseeing the on-site management of installation/surveys.
  • Managing the hand-over.
  • Providing stakeholder engagement management.
  • Reviewing the method statement and safety risk assessments.
  • About you
  • A recognised professional qualification in project management or M&E management, although HNC equivalent with appropriate experience will also suffice.
  • Proven experience working in the construction/utility sector and managing projects.
  • Project management disciplines including value management and programme development and monitoring, ensuring delivery against key milestone targets.
  • Familiarity and background of the utilities and construction industry, in particular general knowledge of water, sewerage, gas, electric, telecoms copper and fibre distribution systems, including supply application and disconnection procedures.
  • An understanding of procurement opportunities to deliver contestable works.
  • Strong negotiating skills with the ability to secure the required outcomes when dealing with people who are process led and not contracted into the project.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in creating, managing and maintaining relationships, able to converse to clients and peers to director level.
  • Self-motivated, organised and capable of working under own direction in a pressured construction environment.
  • Acknowledgement of responsibilities and acceptance of ownership.
  • Ability to direct teams and chair meetings.
