Job Description

IT Support Technician

  • Job Type: Permanent – Office based
  • Location: Central London
  • Salary: up to £40,000
Exciting opportunity for an IT Support Technician to provide exceptional 1st and 2nd line support to our UK Group companies. The role involves supporting over 500 users across multiple sites, both face-to-face and remotely.The successful candidate will be responsible for logging all calls within the IT Helpdesk system and delivering excellent technical and customer service skills to all levels of the business. Additionally, the role includes daily monitoring, administration,and support of the local Infrastructure environment, which comprises several physical servers hosting around 30 virtual servers with off-site replication.Day to Day of the role:
  • Log all calls and tasks in the helpdesk call logging software and keep all open logs up to date.
  • Provide Helpdesk service to users both in person and remotely.
  • Offer support for the Network Infrastructure, including patching and fault finding.
  • Provide Active Directory support and PC support for both hardware and software.
  • Support all company applications and key antivirus software for clients, servers, and email.
  • Produce thorough documentation and provide timely and effective technical support for computers, servers, and mobile devices.
  • Ensure a secure and reliable electronic environment and proactively monitor and administrate the Server Infrastructure and Virtual Environment.
  • Provide hands-on Server and Application support when necessary and monitor daily backup procedures, resolving any issues that may arise.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Significant IT support experience in a networked IT environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 2016 / 2019 and knowledge of Active Directory / DNS / DHCP etc.
  • Familiarity with VM Ware or Hyper V hosting environments.
  • Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent time management skills.
  • Practical and technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Clients) – Windows 10, 11, Microsoft Office – all versions, and IT Security practices.
  • Experience using an IT ticketing system based around ITIL framework and knowledge of PC imaging and deployment.
  • Educated to degree level/equivalent IT qualification or equivalent experience.
