Job Description

Today we employ over 6,000 people across North America, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, India and Asia Pacific.The opportunityBe a part of our group services team who provide support to all businesses across our five global hubs, based in our corporate head office in London.You will be a key player in IT to ensure support and governance is meeting the organisations expectations. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver some transformational change to the way we run our business and deliver our services. You will work and liaise with our IT technical and application community, including wider delivery partners to design, support, implement and transition the technology support solutions.You will take the lead in ensuring the overall performance of our existing environment. You will oversee a number of service-related changes and projects. You will support the implementation of processes and standards that help us get the best out of our environments while staying compliant with our security and regulatory compliance standards. You will develop performance monitoring and reporting that will help us plan for future capacity demands and the design and maintenance of a roadmap of future development and investment.Reporting to the head of IT infrastructure you will be required to diagnose and complete daily escalations as and when required as well as supporting the development of strategic plans for immediate and future projects.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and supporting service-related aspects of Mace IT.
  • Working and liaising with our service partners, other operations teams and the wider technical community in order to diagnose and fix service affecting issues.
  • Managing communication around issues and changes to the business users where applicable.
  • Ensuring that the platforms remain highly available recommending future developments as required to sustain performance.
  • Introducing and maintaining standards and processes that are compliant with our security requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Ensuring that systems are documented and kept current.
  • Owning various levels of standards and work with key IT colleagues to ensure we have a stable, secure and current environment.
  • Communicating to all parts of the business including but not limited to, senior management and main board members. Explaining technical issues in layman’s terms’.
  • Participating and assessing the change management process.
  • Performing any other duties as when required.
  • About you
  • Good standard of education to at least degree level.
  • With industry recognised certifications i.e. Microsoft Certified professional MCSE/MSCA.
  • With ITIL certification or with evidence of ongoing learning ability.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining large-scale, highly available, business-critical systems.
  • Experience of Microsoft Azure, Office 365 or comparable cloud services is required.
  • Experience with a broad range of hardware, software and server operating systems including VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft software suite of products and operating systems.
  • Experience of SQL database management advantageous particularly clustering or other high availability solutions.
  • Experience in design and implementation of new solutions such as hardware and software refreshes, OS upgrades and exposure to cloud migrations.
  • Must be able to build and configure a server environment should there be a requirement.
  • Ability to think strategically and evaluate options in the short, medium and long term.
  • Ability to cope in a technically complex and fast-changing environment, and to respond calmly and rationally to changing aspirations in a deadline-driven situation.
  • Strong planning and organising skills including the ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally.
  • Good influencing and persuasion skills with the ability to enthuse and inspire multidisciplinary teams and build successful relationships at all levels.
  • Clear decision-making ability with the facility to judge complex situations and assess when to escalate issues.
  • Ability to balance conflicting and changing demands through prioritisation and a pragmatic approach
  • Good team player, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
