Job Description

We have had a exciting opportunity open for Group Head of Finance within our London office.Within this role you will be responsible for the Finance function globally, providing oversight and support to group business and corporate functions. Responsible for formulating the Group Finance strategy in line with CFO and CMC Markets objectives andinitiatives.Established in 1989, CMC Markets is a leading global provider of financial spread betting and contracts for difference (CFDs). Headquartered in the City of London and listed on the LSE, we have offices in Sydney, Singapore, Toronto and across Europe.Functional Responsibilities:Finance

  • Responsible, on a day to day basis, for overseeing planning, organisation, auditing, accounting and controlling of the firm’s finances and production of financial statements. Responsible for respective regulatory reporting.
Procurement, Vendor Management and General Outsourcing.
  • Responsible, on a day to day basis, for Procurement, Vendor Management and General Outsourcing to ensure adherence to the process and completion of key activities, based on the risk profile of the service required by the organisation. Responsible for theSupplier Management Framework to govern the performance of general outsourced services, and services provided by third party suppliers who are strategic suppliers.
Personal Responsibilities:
  • Effective management of a global finance team of 30 staff, including regional Heads of Finance, Group Finance, Group FP&A and Finance Systems teams.
  • Ensure robust financial management and control across the CMC Group
  • Deliver the year end audit and the half year review, including being the main interface with the external auditors
  • Lead the delivery of external reporting requirements as a listed company, including the annual report and analyst presentations, including interfacing with Investor Relations, corporate brokers and PR
  • Build and maintain relationships across the Group, including the Board and Executive Committee, to ensure that finance remain an integral part of decision making process
  • Lead the formation of the budget and forecast process including target-setting and production of Board papers
  • Maintain and develop monthly financial and non-financial management information for the Board and commercial teams to ensure it remains relevant as the business changes and moves forward, including robust challenge of the business with respect to performanceagainst target
  • Maintain oversight of financial regulatory reporting developments of the Group
  • Deliver financial regulatory reporting for the Group and the UK FCA-regulated subsidiaries
  • Maintain syndicated credit facility relationship
  • Work with senior management to ensure that project prioritisation is robust
  • Contribute and challenge the development of the Group strategy through wider industry and competitor insight
  • Support the CFO with delivery of ad hoc projects
  • Support the personal development of the global finance team
  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training
  • When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) with significant post-qualified experience
  • Financial services experience with a good understanding of FCA regulatory reporting
  • Familiarity with the external reporting requirements of a listed company
  • Management of both financial control and FP&A teams
  • Suitability to be an FCA SMCR Certification Function
