Workshop Technician - Church Crookham, £25-30K plus excellent benefits packageExcellent opportunity to join an established and expanding company with International links. This role suits someone with experience of mechanical/ electro- mechanical assembly, a Mechanical Technician , Field Service Engineer looking for a site based role.The Workshop Technician will: Maintain an efficient and safe workshop and test area environment. Use the analysis of returned damaged products to diagnose potential system issues. Produce technical reports for returned damaged products together with a solution for the most economic repair. Offer technical support to customers via telephone and email. Develop a comprehensive knowledge of part numbers for the range. React quickly to support distributors and customers when required. Check incoming goods against engineering drawings with quality awareness. Analyse returned products leading to suggestions of system improvement. Train customers and colleagues in specific product and system design. Design and run test programs. Assist with the production of specialist manuals. Provide on the ground support at the installation for repair as well as system analysis. Modify stock products to satisfy specific requirements.Key skills required: A strong technical ability with mechanical systems. Competence with hand tools. Knowledge of disassembly and assembly of rotating equipment. Capability to plan own workload and assess the priorities, communicating realistic and achievable time scales. Good mathematical knowledge - able to use very simple equations and conversion of units of measure. Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Attention to detail. Methodical and logical work practices. Effective communication at all levels. Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office software.
