Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit motivated, dynamic, forward thinking and enthusiastic Scrub Practitioners to join our rapidly growing Day case theatres at Chorley and Royal Preston Hospital.We are looking for a pro-active individual to be part of our integral theatre team to assist in implementing, maintaining and delivering world class patient care in theatres. Applications are invited from registered ODPs/Nurses.You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently but linking in very closely with the operating team as well as manging a demanding workload. Day case is a busy unit in which many procedures are undertaken for both adults and children.The Day case unit will be transferring to Chorley hospital with Paediatric lists staying at Royal Preston Hospital, all as part of the day case setting. We are also in the process of expanding our ophthalmic service which will see a purpose built unit opening in 2021 comprising of all ophthalmology services under one roof, which includes two state of the art ophthalmology theatres.Working at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals will give you the opportunity to work in a large theatre directorate consisting of 32 theatres covering a wide range of skills across both sites in Robotic surgery, urology, colorectal, extensive orthopaedic surgery, major head & neck, complex vascular, plastics, ENT & OMF, Upper GI, colorectal, neurosurgery, Breast, Obstetrics, Gynaecology including benign and oncology work as well as emergency and trauma.These are exciting times ahead for theatres here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals as we are committed to service development within theatres offering staff the opportunity to share ideas and look at new ways of working through our staff voices forum. We are currently in the process of expanding our theatres and staff are actively encouraged to be involved in the development of this unit. We also offer staff development programmes and have recently launched our Leader of Tomorrow Programme which provides a clear development pathway at all levels.
