Job Description

Role: 2nd Line IT Support Engineer Location: Chorley, PrestonSalary: £19,000 - £29,000 + Excellent Benefits & Training OpportunitiesWe are currently searching for 2nd Line Technician to join the Service Desk of a rapidly growing MSP based in Chorley. You will act as an escalation point for tickets and requests that the 1st line team are unable to resolve. You should have a with a keen desire to progress through on the job training and certifications as these are opportunities offered and encouraged within the company.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to work for an organisation that highly values teamwork across all departments and promotes a dynamic and hard-working yet friendly work ethic. My client is searching for the right candidate who has excellent all-round knowledge of IT hardware and software. Whilst also being a self-motivated individual who is dedicated to their role.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • First point of escalation for First Line Service Desk team
  • Responsible for tracking daily checks and remediating or escalating as required
  • Responsible for acting on system alerts and remediating or escalating as required
  • Responsible for ensuring all backups are completed successfully
  • Escalation to 3rd line
  • Performing First Line Service Desk duties when required
  • Providing support to customers remotely & on site when required
  • Requirements
  • Candidates should have at least 2 years experience of working on a Service Desk
  • Good base knowledge of all IT Hardware & Software
  • Office 365 & Azure
  • VMWare / Hyper V
  • On-Premise servers
  • Windows OS & Server
  • Networking
