Job Description

Supplier Relationship Manager role within UtilitiesAutonomous role looking at niche category spend areasClient DetailsConfidentialDescriptionWere looking for a motivated and passionate procurement specialist, to support the management of strategic service providers. In the role, youll be responsible for all aspects of supplier governance, as well as performance management for business-critical suppliers.My client operates a decentralised procurement model, with each function accountable for their own supply chain. In the role, youd join a small central team who provide leadership, expertise and resource to the rest of the business in all areas of procurement and supply chain management.As part of the role, youll provide support for our move towards joint ownership of key contracts whilst also working with individual teams to improve governance. Youll utilise reporting and performance management, to drive improvements in how we manage our suppliers.In the role, youll be responsible for reviewing the performance of existing strategic suppliers, which includes a clear and strong understanding of contract deliverables, services and KPIs, as well as, organising and chairing performance reviews, and at times, taking ownership of specific performance problems.ProfileEssential

  • Experience of working with 3rd parties in a procurement or supply chain function.
  • Experience of supplier management best practices.
  • Must be a clear and confident communicator both verbally and in written presentations.
  • A good collaborator who can build strong working relationships across the business.
  • Experience and capability to chair review meetings with both internal and external parties.
  • Ability to educate internal stakeholders on best practice and push them to make improvements.
  • Reasonable level of commercial acumen to review costings and interpret contract terms.
  • Data analysis skills to be able to review, interpret and articulate supplier performance to internal stakeholders.

  • Experience of operational arrangements within an IT or services industry
  • Knowledge of the energy sector is useful but not essential.
  • MCIPS or working towards.
