Job Title: Library AdministratorLocation: Lyneham, UK - on siteCompensation: £20,000+ benefitsRole Type: Full time / PermanentRole ID: SF 49454It starts with youAt Babcock were working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Library Administrator at Lyneham.As an international defence company, we support and enhance our customers defence and security capabilities and critical assets, meeting their requirements of value for money, increased availability, modernisation and flexibility.Defence TrainingThe Library Administrator role is based within our Defence Training business area.The roleThe difference our new Library Administrator will makeAs a Library Administrator, youll enable training to go ahead efficiently and manage the resources for training purposes while providing an excellent friendly service.Day to day, youll assist in the day-to-day operation of the libraries which includes staffing library counters, issuing and returning library materials, coursebook preparation, membership administration, shelving resources, data and statistics collectionand reporting, inter-library loans and administrative tasks. Joining our team you will provide excellent customer focused library services to trainees, staff and visitors based at MOD Lyneham.Youll also assist library users with resource enquires and information requests in print and electronic formats, carry out tasks associated with the collection management of library materials which includes identifying new stock, processing new acquisitions,cataloguing resources, updating and maintaining accurate records on the library management system and stock checking.You will liaise with teaching staff to ensure the library collection and services support teaching and learning needs, develop and support the use of systems, services, facilities and equipment including the library management system, Virtual Learning Environmentand electronic resources, help library users with ICT facilities, printing and scanning, computer software packages and equipment and deliver library inductions to trainees and staff.Good planning and organising skills are key for this role and you should be used to working under pressure to meet deadlines allowing flexibility and resilience. Knowledge of electrical or mechanical engineering is not required.At Babcock, we have a history of helping talent go far.
