Job Description

Job Title: Continuous Improvement LeadLocation: Swindon, Wiltshire + Hybrid Working Arrangements Compensation: up to £44,415 (depending on experience) + Standard BenefitsRole Type: Full time / Permanent Role ID: SF54647At Babcock were working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Continuous Improvement Lead at our MOD Lyneham site.The RoleAs a Continuous Improvement Lead, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will be supporting the Electro-Mechanical Training Contract 2 (EMTC 2) based in the Programme Management Office at MOD Lyneham.Day to day, you will be responsible for leading drive toward culture of continuous improvement (CI) amongst identifying and assisting in delivery of business change against future requirements with various stakeholders including the operations team, customer,internal and wider Babcock, as well as working collaboratively with the CI Project Manager based at HMS Sultan.

  • Responsible for leading and managing the performance measurement, analysis and anticipating future requirements and the need for change for EMTC 2 Lyneham and beyond
  • Support the bid teams to provide data and information within the contract as well as deliver/coordinate growth initiatives essential for bid success
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of performance measurement systems
  • Working with operational leads to ensure process documentation, policy control documents, standard operating procedures and Performance Indicators are accurate and providing value to the business
  • Data gathering with operational leads for both bid teams and performance improvement
This is a full-time permanent role t (37 hours per week) based at MoD Lyneham with hybrid working opportunities. There is a requirement to travel to HMS Sultan on a quarterly basis.Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible, blended working, includingpart-time, condensed hours, and job sharing. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.Essential experience of the Continuous Improvement Lead:
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering change initiatives and projects
  • Experience of successfully delivering communication and change plans
  • Demonstrable experience of working alongside operational teams to deliver effective change
  • Experience and understanding of performance measurement, business analysis and data analysis methods
  • Demonstrable evidence of continuous improvement techniques such as Lean production or 6 Sigma methodology
  • Experience of managing complex groups of stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience in change initiatives and project lifecycles
Qualifications for the Continuous Improvement Lead:
  • Project Management, Change Management, Business Analysis or Lean qualifications
  • Degree qualified or equivalent management experience is desirable
