For over 30 years they have been leading the way in solutions andservices for Emergency Services.They are looking for an Application/System Support Engineer to join their Incident Management team on a permanent basis.If you are passionate about technology and have experience in application coding and system architectures, we would love to hear from you.Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire with travel to Customer sites for problem resolutionsHours: Shifts: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30, Monday to Friday 17:00 - 09:00 and Friday to Monday 17:00 - 09:00Salary: up to £35,000.00 per annum (depending upon experience)Purpose of the role:The role will be responsible for developing and managing documentation and procedures to ensure records are maintained and demonstrate their added value to incident resolution.Some of the key duties & responsibilities will involve:* Working within a dedicated support team to handle both reactive works caused by problems and the proactive work required to enhance the business ability to achieve SLAs within cost delimiters.* Providing out of hours support on a rota-based system using a shared-on call phone.* Developing and managing documentation and procedures to ensure records are maintained and demonstrate their added value to incident resolution.* Visiting Customer sites for problem resolutions, system upgrades or meetings, with Customers spread around the country.* Technically contributing to the full range of skills involved in second line support to critical Police systems.Our ideal candidate will have/be:* Good general knowledge of Information Technology* Working knowledge of SQL (PL/SQL preferred)* Virtualisation, Windows Server 2003/12/16 +* Some knowledge of C, C++ or Visual C++.* Experience of bespoke application support.* Configuring PCs, installation and configuration of software.* An understanding of Lan/Wan Hardware and Architecture.* An understanding of TCP/IP and Network protocols.* Windows and networking.* ADSL connectivity.* Remote Access Service (RAS) or Windows (RDP) .* Use of Call Management Software.For the security clearance reasons - please only apply for this position if you have full right to work in the UK and you have been living in the UK for last 5 years.eSift have been appointed as the resource partner and we are managing this role on behalf of our client.
