Job Description

Some may need emotional support to help them achieve their potential. Channelling individual capabilities into academic success is thegoal, as part of a holistic and uniquely attentive educational strategy.Luxborough Court School is a brand new modern purpose built school that was completed in 2017. It is registered for 150 pupils aged 519 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.There are approximately 20 classrooms, comprising a mixture of general teaching rooms for all year groups and more specialised science, food tech and DT classrooms. There is a large sports hall with changing facilities and there is a bespoke 6th form suite.There are a number of other smaller individual spaces used for therapeutic intervention and bespoke support packages.The School benefits from extensive outdoor space, including an area for the delivery of horticulture. There is a large central courtyard garden in the centre of the school and separate secondary and junior playgrounds and a fenced off multi-use games area.There are good public transport connections with Chigwell Station one mile away, providing London Underground Central Line services to central London and other Essex towns. The road links are good and the site is located adjacent to the M11 although accessto it is approximately 2.3 miles south at Woodford Junction 4. The M11 links from Cambridge to London.Be inspiredWe need more than a Teacher, we need someone who can connect with our pupils first and foremost and develop strong trusting relationships quickly. If you can, then teaching to our pupils will be the easy part!Once you have developed those relationships then you will be able to begin to really impact on each and every pupil you teach. This means you can teach the way you have always wanted to teach to the pupils who really need you the most. Our pupils abilitiesand needs are diverse, so you have the chance to bring teaching alive and relate it to each pupil as an individual. All our classes are supported by teaching assistants with a strong pastoral presence as well. You are never alone at our school as youll workas part of a collaborative team, not just with other teachers across the school and the wider Witherslack Group but with our in-house psychologists, family liaison officers and therapy professionals. All pulling together to create the best possible outcomesfor our pupils.Be yourselfWere looking for a Teacher who is an expert in their field of knowledge, a teacher who has a specialised subject area such as English, Maths, Science or Food Tech. The kind of person who wants to make a difference and knows the pathway that will allow themto do so. Someone who also wants to be part of the conversation when it comes to group decisions on how we, as a Group, best meet the needs of each child with regard to training, support and annual reviews.Aware of the standards that Ofsted look out for and always conscious to exceed them, youll be the kind of teacher who is never anything but engaged and engaging.
