Job Description

Teaching Assistant - Year 1 (Full-Time)Location: Chesterfield Primary SchoolStart Date: ASAP in the New YearContract Type: Fixed Term, until Summer 2024Chesterfield Primary School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our Year 1 team. This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible in the New Year and continuing until the end of the summer term in 2024.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Year 1 class teacher in delivering high-quality education.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Read Write Inc phonics program.
  • Work closely with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Support the class teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall development of the students.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
  • Proven experience working with Key Stage 1 students.
  • Familiarity with the Read Write Inc phonics program is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for all students.
