Job Description

THE COMPANY:Brewster Partners are working in exclusive partnership with a Derbyshire based manufacturing business who have created the new role of Procurement Manager following an internal re-shuffle within the business.Reporting to to the senior management team and managing a team of 3 Buyers, this is an exciting position for an experienced Procurement Manager from the manufacturing industry.THE JOB:The purpose of this role is:

  • To lead the purchasing function of the business in support of all manufacturing, assembly, electrical departments and all purchasing, leasing and warehouse functions.
  • Work with the SMT to improve procurement and inventory management systems, processes and best practices
  • Deliver on the strategic objectives of the business
  • Ensure the appropriate (MRP) is in place to support the business and work closely with the companys ERP to develop the process
  • Work with the sales team to develop a purchasing forecast
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Monitor, record and affect purchasing KPIs positively and effectively
As part of this role you will:
  • Ensure the correct level of MRP is in place to ensure products are planned, ordered and received on time
  • Carry out supplier negotiations and ensure up to date agreements are in place. Negotiate and implement manufacturing and supply agreements with vendors where necessary to the benefit of the business
  • Manage the accurate recording of inventory levels within the ERP, including taking responsibility for inventory counts and spot-checks, together with taking a leading role in the annual stock take
THE PERSON:To be considered for this position, the business are looking for:
  • Experience of managing and coordinating a purchasing team and a global supply chain
  • Good understanding of purchasing KPIs and how to apply them to recognise improvement areas
  • Hands on experience in budgeting and purchasing management.
  • Proficient and experienced use of ERP/MRP business systems
Ideal but not essential qualifications:
  • Leadership and/or management qualifications (eg. CMI, NVQ, BTEC, ILM)
  • Purchasing qualifications (eg. CIPS)
  • Purchasing Management qualifications (IoSCM)
  • Supply Chain Management qualifications
  • Lean manufacturing qualifications (eg. Six Sigma, Lean, Data Analysis)
