Job Description

THE COMPANY:Brewster Partners have been exclusively retained by our client Cathelco (part of the Evac Group) to recruit Head of Project Management based at their easily accessible site in Chesterfield, North Derbyshire.Evac is the worlds leading provider of integrated water and waste management systems, as well as corrosion-protection systems, for the marine, offshore, and building industries.Cathelco are world leading manufacturers of equipment for ships, Navy, Military and the offshore oil and gas industry and have a turnover around £25 million.The company are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Head of Project Management with a background in engineering and design who has managed projects within the navy of military industries.THE JOB:Reporting to the Vice President of Global Project Management, this position will have overall responsibility of project management in new building and/or modernisation projects - specialising in Navy and Military business.The Head of Project Management will:

  • Oversee a small team of Project Managers
  • Ensure that assigned projects are delivered with the best possible result (quality, delivery time, cost and resources)
  • Ensure, control and monitor that all project activities are complied with
  • Applicable HSE related laws, rules and regulations including cyber security requirements
  • Evac quality standards and applicable specifications
  • Project and customer specific requirements and standards by qualified team members
  • Local legislation of the project site(s) country/countries as specified in sales phase
  • Ensure that non-conformities at each stage of the project are being observed, recorded and corrective actions are taken
  • Ensure that the project related activities and QHSE topics are regularly reviewed and updated together with the project team
  • Is responsible for relevant HSEQ communication to all project stakeholders, both in the office and on site, including internal and external members, customers, contractors, external resources, etc.
  • Lead and manage the project team from project start-up until project delivery
  • Plan and schedule the project together with the project team on regular basis
  • Control and report project progress and financial status as per Evac internal process
  • Report project progress as agreed with the customer
  • Handle customer contacts during project
  • Manage change orders towards customer and subcontractors together with the project team
  • Conduct proactive risk analysis, risk management and risk mitigation in all project phases
  • THE PERSON:This is an important role within the business and to be successful they are looking for a candidate with:
  • Professional requirements
  • Technical or business-related education including leadership studies
  • Prince 2 qualification
  • Experience of SAP would be desirable
  • Engineering and design background in Navy and Military shipbuilding industry
  • Project management work experience in Navy and Military and Marine projects
  • Good knowledge of shipbuilding industry in general
  • Good expertise in project finance
  • Skills in project planning, delegating and organising
  • Good leadership, negotiation, communication and team building skills
