Job Description

OverviewTo support the engineering and motor claims teams in negotiating and agreeing total loss valuations on motor vehicles. Specifically, this will entail assessing damage, valuing vehicles using the recognised trade guides, and applying the correct salvage categoryon cars, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles. Processing total loss payments and associated duties accurately and efficiently.Responsibilities

  • Negotiation and settlement of pre-incident valuations of motor vehicles (car, bike, commercial or other specialist vehicles)
  • Processing total loss claims in accordance with claims philosophy
  • Proactively manage own workload as you will be expected to progress claims where multi-tasking and prioritisation is key to delivering a great customer experience.
  • Perform within departmental targets, internal and external SLAs
  • Undertake other reasonable responsibilities as required
  • To ensure that DPA, FCA & TCF and other regulatory requirements are met
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Calm, considered and pragmatic approach to dealing with workload and customers
  • Ability to manage adversarial situations
  • Ability to negotiate and influence and resolve difficult conversations with customers
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workloads
  • Insurance claims and systems experience (required)
  • General knowledge and interest in motor vehicles (required)
  • General understanding of insurance principles and practices(required)
