Job Description

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant for a SecondarySchool near Cheshunt. The postion involves general classroom support, including working with small groups of students, and supporting their learning. The role, starting in April 2023, is initially a temporary one, however, the school are looking to make thecontract permanent for someone who embodies the school values.The position is at a combined secondary school and sixth form, and strives to provide an inclusive curriculum that allows every individual to reach their full potential. The school are looking for someone who can make an impact in the school and help tocreate growing learning environment.The Role:

  • Able to support the students in the class under the direction of the class teacher
  • Help to maintain a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school
  • Ability to support students, on a whole class, small group and individual basis, and encourage their progression
  • Willingness to comply with the schools policies and implement effectively
Requirements:
  • Recent experience working in schools or with secondary age students
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
  • SEND experience is desirable
