Job Description

Workshop Engineer: Permanent position, Location: Coleford, Salary: up to £30,000p/a. Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, 3:15pm finish on a Friday: Well established company 130 years of trading, 35 from this site. Overtime available. Trainingavailable.Workshop Engineer Role:The workshop Engineer is responsible for dismantling, inspection, reporting and assembly of pumps and valves including site removal & installation.

  • Dismantle rotating equipment to component level.
  • Identification of components.
  • Compile detailed condition reports on equipment dismantled.
  • Fault-finding on break down equipment.
  • Assemble equipment using engineering drawings or experience/knowledge.
  • Interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics, and repair equipment, utilising specialist knowledge and standard test instruments and tools.
  • Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems encountered.
  • Site activities, inclusive of removal, installation, laser alignment and commissioning.
Qualifications & Experience for the Workshop EngineerEssential:
  • Time served Craft Apprenticeship or Equivalent as a Workshop Engineer
  • Service knowledge & understanding of rotating equipment
  • Experience in the overhaul of pumps/valves
Desirable:
  • Fork lift truck license
  • LOLER trained or similar (overhead crane)
  • Site Safety Passport
  • Experience with paint spraying
