Job Description

The main responsibilities will be to manage the suppliers from start to finish, which involves leading the sourcing strategy, sourcing and on-boarding suppliers, monitoring supplier performance, and negotiating purchases. Additionally, you will take on aleadership role in the strategic planning, implementation, and delivery of new product development.Client DetailsWith a global presence in their specific field my client is dedicated to ongoing research and development to enhance their business.DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Working in partnership with the Product management and R&D teams to source new products through new and existing supply chains
  • Leading the Request for Quotation (RFQ) and supplier due diligence processes
  • Managing supplier performance ensuring that quality, cost and delivery against KPIs
  • Conducting market, supplier and financial evaluation of the supplier portfolio managing risk where required
  • Leading on supplier negotiations optimising cost through supplier reviews, product reviews and new strategic plans
  • Creating and managing of supplier contracts
  • General procurement activities for all site Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) requirements
  • Developing and implementing metrics to enable informed decision making across all procurement activities
  • Developing, implementing, and executing appropriate strategies and initiatives to enable business success
  • Maintaining ERP system data; costs, lead times, supplier MOQ
  • Representing the GB team at global procurement team meetings
ProfileThe successful candidate will have
  • Experience of end-to-end supplier management gained within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of leading New Product Development activities including strategic sourcing, supplier due diligence and on-boarding
  • Ability to build, maintain and influence collaborative and effective working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with particular attention to detail.
  • A self-motivated proactive approach to work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of MRP/ERP business operating systems. (Experience in use of Sage/SAP MRP/ERP operating system an advantage)
  • Computer literate with full competence across Microsoft applications
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyse large data sets and draw conclusions that aid and enhance management decision making
  • This role requires national and international travel therefore a full UK driving license or ability to independently travel is essential
