Job Type: Receptionist / Administrator - Part-timeLocation: Cheam, Surrey SM3 8SGHours: 2.5 days a week plus alternate Saturday morningsSalary: £10.90 to £12.00 per hourWe are looking for 2 people to job share our Receptionist / Administrator role as follows:Role 1Monday and Tuesday 9am - 5.30pmWednesday 9am - 1pmAlternate Saturdays 9am - 1pmRole 2Wednesday 1pm - 5.30pmThursday and Friday 9am - 5.30pmAlternate Saturdays 9am - 1pmWe are a friendly Independent Opticians in Cheam Village. As personal service, quality and care are important to us as a business, you should be a natural at creating a welcoming and friendly environment and have a professional, efficient and confident personality.An interest in learning to develop your knowledge of optics is essential as you will be required to promote and explain our eye care services to our clients both on the phone and face to face.This role plays an important part in the smooth running of the business working closely with customers on a day to day basis and providing an efficient service with the rest of the team. This position is a front of house role and you will be working primarilyon your own in Reception.Responsibilities

  • Customer facing role involving meeting and greeting clients, handling customer enquiries face to face, by email and over the telephone.
  • Booking appointments on the computerised appointment diary.
  • Inputting patient data into the patient management software.
  • Preparing patient record cards and NHS paperwork for consultations.
  • Answering questions about our services and dealing with patient queries.
  • Taking payments on the till and credit card machine.
  • Ordering and stock control of contact lenses, contact lens solutions, spectacles and eye care products.
  • General administration duties including filing.
  • Obtaining feedback on patient contact lens trials.
  • Maintaining the reception / waiting area to a high standard.
TrainingOne-to-one training will be given to develop your skills in all aspects of this position.Requirements
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at Level 5 (Grade C) and above including Maths and English.
  • Solid experience in a previous administration / reception role or optical experience.
  • Strong organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bright, friendly personality that easily builds rapport with people.
  • Confident in customer facing role.
  • Comprehensive ability to use Windows based software.
