Job Description

An exciting role has been created for a small but growing product-based business who are currently going through an evolution through automation, with the Finance function developing it’s capabilities. Whilst there is a mature financial control environmentwith established reporting processes, they are on a mission to drive simplification and automation as they continue to grow the business. They recently automated the expenses process and implemented Power BI, and in 2023 are in the process of implementingaccounts payable automation software.This is a newly created position that would suit someone who is keen to have a wider remit than simply Management Accountant duties. In this role, you will have the opportunity to formally develop your core accountancy knowledge and expertise through study,enhanced by the day-to-day application of those skills, whilst also playing a key role in supporting the automation of financial reporting functionality.The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller to take ownership of parts of the monthly management accounts and reporting, support the Accounts Payable and Receivable Assistants in their duties and will become a Power BI champion,as the team automates more reporting and drive new insights for the business.Responsibilities

  • Work with the Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly Management Accounts for the business including reporting and analysis.
  • Carry out month end processes, reconciliations and closing of ledgers.
  • Identify and implement Power BI automation into the finance activities, with support from the Finance Director and Financial Controller.
  • Support in stock management.
  • Reconcile company expenses including cost analysis.
  • Provide weekly reporting to the Group in Sweden.
  • Cost analysis across all overheads.
  • Support the wider finance team in managing automated accounts payable software and support bank payments, and other ad hoc activities.
  • Manage the monthly payroll.
The PersonYou will have had accounting experience in a small to medium sized company and are now looking to broaden and develop your career in Finance, become fully qualified and beyond. You will have advanced Excel skills with an in-depth interest in Technology andhow it can impact the efficiency of a business. The ideal candidate will have:-
  • A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in a Finance function; someone with a background in AP/AR and some exposure to Management Accounting duties will be considered
  • The desire to embark on, or continue, their journey to become a fully qualified accountant.
  • Strong Excel skills (Power BI would also be an advantage, but training will be provided).
  • A hands on, can-do approach to their work.
  • A naturally inquisitive nature, with good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility, good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A strong sense of "team" - simplification and automation is a company-wide initiative.
