Job Description

Enjoy a rewarding career at The Woodhouse as a Speech & Language Therapist, where you will help some of the most vulnerable people in society shape and develop their communication skills to build a brighter future.You will work 37.5 alongside a multidisciplinary team, where youll provide person-centred care for people with a learning disability and/or Autism. Gaining experience across low secure and locked rehabilitation environments to support better health andgreater independence.With experience from the NHS or private sector, youll have a natural way with people as you listen and support individuals with learning disabilities and autism in ensuring that their communication needs are assessed and supported with evidence-based interventions.You will design and deliver group and individual activities, assessments, interventions and treatments to support their care plans and promote recovery as they overcome communication and swallowing difficulties.Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.We encourage and support vaccination uptake as this remains the best line of defence against COVID-19. As such, you will need to have had your Covid Vaccine to be eligible for this position.Your responsibilities:

To provide assessment, diagnosis and appropriate speech and language therapy intervention for people referred to the service
Demonstrate specialist knowledge in communication and swallowing disorders
Contribute to the assessment and information-gathering regarding service users mental capacity and ability to give informed consent
Assist service users to maximise their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes

To be successful in this role, youll need

To be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, and be registered with HCPC
Experience in a similar environment
Evidence of continuing Professional Development
