Priory Cheadle Royal Child and Adolescent inpatient Service (CAMHS)Priory is the largest provider of child and adolescent inpatient services to the NHS. We aim to meet a young persons mental health needs safely and effectively, in the least restrictive environment, whilst maintaining their privacy, dignity, sense of self, and relationships with those close to them.Priory Cheadle Royal provides 35 CAMHS beds across three units, and although they function independently, they work closely together in order to share knowledge, expertise and learning opportunities. The three units within our CAMHS service comprises of…Meadows- Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)•10 bed mixed gender PICU service providing containment and management of risks•Offering intensive multidisciplinary assessment of mental health needs•Providing recommendations on suitable future support and care pathways•Moving the young person on to a less restrictive setting as soon as possibleWoodlands - Low Secure Unit (LSU)•10 bed low secure therapeutic and rehabilitative service for young females aged 13-18 years who pose a significant level of risk to themselves and/or others•Young people who are admitted to Woodlands often present with severe self-harming behaviours, other risk issues and complex needs including attachment disorder, complex PTSD, emerging personality disorder and may have suffered childhood trauma•Prior to admission to Woodlands, young people have usually had multiple or long admissions to tier 4 acute CAMHS inpatient services or local authority secure services•The goal of the service is to engage the young person in a process of therapeutic change and to work toward successful discharge to the community after planned admissions of between 6-18 months.Orchard - General Adolescent Unit (GAU)•15 bed mixed gender CAHMS acute unit offering support and care to both detained and informal patients.•Orchard takes a range of illnesses including psychosis, emergent personality disorder and eating disorders.•The main aim of Orchard is to provide effective and timely treatment to enable the young person to reintegrate back into the community. Our models of care is tailored to the unique needs of each young person, to achieve positive outcomes.•Orchard works with a range of disciplines including the nursing team, medics and a range of therapistsPreceptors:Are you a newly qualified Mental Health Nurse looking to consolidate your training with an excellent Preceptorship packageYou will have a preceptor package with tailored individual and group support both on and off the ward.
