Job Description

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pharmacovigilance Officer to join the UK head office operations team based in the SouthManchester area with opportunity for 40% home working. About The Role: Working with the Head of Regulatory and PV in development and maintenance of the company PV system in accordance with Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) and relevant local legislation Development and maintenance of the UK PV System Master File in conjunction with GPV Collaborate with PV colleagues to ensure timely tracking and reporting of Adverse Events Entry and quality control (QC) of local product case data into Global Safety Database Perform initial triage of corporate product case data Perform weekly assessment of global and local literature To operate in the submissions portal, for collection and reporting of adverse reactions from/to the European Medicine Agency (EMA) and MHRA respectively Reconciliation of Adverse Events/Adverse Drug Reactions with partners and other departments Assist in the performance of signal detection activities and production of reports Assist in the production/review of Safety Data Exchange Agreements (SDEAs) and Pharmacovigilance Agreements with third parties Assist in the training of company employees on PV To monitor regulatory authority websites Remain up to date with relevant legislation and obligation of pharmaceutical companies Collaborate with members of other teams in particular, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Information and Business Intelligence departments Where appropriate, draft/review/update Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) / Working Instructions Essential Skills & Experience Life Sciences or Pharmacy degree Good clinical knowledge with a scientific background Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry Strong knowledge of PV Pharmacovigilance processes and legislation Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong planning and organisation skills. High level attention to detail and accuracy. Strong IT skills, including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. High standard of literacy and written communication.
