Job Description

Mechanical EngineerAre you wanting to take your career to new heightsDue to a recent period of growth within a busy Engineering department we have the pleasure of recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This is a new position within the business & you will be working closely with the Mechanical & Electrical Engineers and site operational teams to work on all planned and reactive maintenance. Ideally you willhave had exposure to both Mech & Elec, but this isnt essential.This role is integral to the Engineering department. You will be working for a leading services sector business, responsible for providing daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly PPM works.This role is shift based & will change based on workload. This will be on a rota basis and will include weekends.You will be reporting into the Engineering Director and the main responsibilities & duties of the role are:

  • Carry out risk assessments and method statements for any unscheduled maintenance activity
  • Ensure that all work activities comply with all of the Health and Safety standards
  • This role is a blend of general maintenance and reactive maintenance, repairing faults & attending to site at short notice
  • Awareness of the Permit-to-Work system and ensure that it is followed correctly
  • Understanding of safe contractor control
  • Responsible for the delivery of PPM tasks
  • Involvement for planning of all annual PPM with line manager
  • Provide regular maintenance updates to line manager
  • Participate in relevant maintenance meetings
  • To ensure that any potential health and safety hazards are addressed as quickly as possible and reported as necessary
  • Flexible approach to the support of all duties within the engineering department
