Job Description

IT Support Assistant - Stockport - £23,000 per annumClient DetailsOur client is one of the worlds largest conglomerates doing business in over 50 countries with 25890 employees and over 1,000,000 shareholders. Their business has a number of brands, one of the most successful of which is looking for an IT Support Assistant to join them to help support IT across the business.DescriptionWhat youll be doing..This will be a varied role where you will support business users across multiple areas at a 1st line support level. The job is broken down into 5 core areas that you will be trained on and will need to support throughout your time in the role.The 5 core areas are listed below:1.

  • Repairing scanner hardware related issues, such as charging ports, screens.
  • Repairing any hardware L1 issues at head office.
  • Getting hardware problem fixed by outside agency, getting quote, raising purchase order, and actioning repair and follow up.

  • Supporting IBM server team during and after patch upgrade activity.
  • Installation of Laptops, desktop from the scratch.
  • Installation of softwares or updates.
  • Helping in executing group projects, for ex. 2FA, Big Fix and Zscaler recently.
  • Support the Merchandiser on order management of customer accounts (Large Retail Suppliers).

  • Support the Merchandiser on product and inventory issues with retail system.
  • Setting up replenishment on tills.
  • Support the Merchandiser or PI count process, like, activation of ranges, repairing any technical glitches like if scanner not connecting to db. etc.
  • Repairing shared drive access issues.
  • Setting up new user account.
    • 4.
  • Deactivation of users while leaving.
  • Inventory update.
  • Monitoring and management of Zoolz, addition and deletion of users.
  • Hand and feet support in data centre.
  • Arranging engineer for any breakdown, printers, air condition unit or any server hardware.
    • 5.
  • Raising IT PO in SAP.
  • Support any L1 level issues with user. (include identification of problem, Repairing or escalating to L2 support, could be India support or UK senior IT staff)
  • Following up with IT vendors as per guidance of manager, whether it could be contract, cost or support related.
    • ProfileYour skills and experience..Experience & Skills:
  • A self-motivated, pro-active individual with an organised approach and excellent communication skills
  • Service-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Able to deliver and sustain high-levels of operational excellence and customer focus in both service and project related tasks
  • An excellent Team player
  • Able to work under pressure ensuring that problems with mission-critical systems are resolved/escalated quickly
  • A Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations & Promotion of safe working practices
    • Desirable:
  • Previous experience or a College/University qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field is beneficial but not essential
