Job Description

Role - Sustainability ManagerSector - Events & PRSalary - Up to £35k dependant on experience + Annual company bonusBenefits - 25 days holiday + Bank, Flexible and hybrid working, enhanced pension, life insurance, clear development programme and your Birthday off!Leading Events business specialising in live and virtual events are looking to secure a Sustainability Manager to join their team based in South Manchester. The business have been operating 15 years and following year on year growth for the past 5 yearsare in a great position to add some further talent to their team.Being part of the team is a fast paced and varied existence - they are a multi award winning, full service creative agency with clients spanning over a range of sectors including retail, banking and finance, public sector, hospitality, travel, automotiveand tech.As Sustainability Manager, youll work within the company Support Team to ensure that the business is operating in accordance with their own environmental guidelines and targets whilst also supporting to determine where improvements can be made across variousdifferent events and clients.The business arent looking for a fully fledged Sustainability Manager, that would be great however, its key they secure someone from the industry that is passionate about making these improvements and implement and monitor environmental strategies to promotesustainable development.Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans
  • Partner on sustainable procurement and supply chain for all goods and services, working with the Procurement Manager
  • Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy
  • Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices, ensuring sustainability is considered at each aspect of project and event delivery
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, and keep up to date with UK, European Union and international regulation and legislation
  • Liaise with relevant bodies such as isla, BSI, local authorities, public bodies and competent bodies around environmental performance
  • As part of the ISO20121 process, carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the environmental risks and costs to the business
  • Promote and raise awareness of the impact of emerging environmental issues
  • Support with the management of the ISO14001 environmental management system, and implementation of ISO20121, to continually improve the impact of the organisation on the environment
  • Work on organisational sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery.
  • Support the event delivery team, representing fresh from a sustainability angle on-site or at client meetings

  • Show a passion for sustainability and working within a busy, creative environment
