Job Description

Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, following a Hybrid work pattern. You will join us on a full-time basis aspart of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £36k per annum.Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.As a Quality Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in assisting in the development of the Internal Audit function of Human Appeal that will provide assurance at organisational and service level to all Human Appeal Managers in the UKand globally.They will monitor the effectiveness of Human Appeals risk management and internal control environment. This will involve helping to draw up Internal strategy, audit plans and methodologies, as well as providing real-time assurance working withHuman Appeal teams to assist them in assessing and mitigating risks to ensure Human Appeals policies, procedures and systems remain fit for purpose and risks mitigated and managed. All in order to ensure consistency in organisational identity and culturethrough proposing and following up policies and initiatives to help create a positive and supportive working environment, and effective delivery of the organisations purpose. Key duties and responsibilities of the Quality Manager:
  • Effective implementation of agreed quality management system (QMS) to all locations, and helping in standardising work practices.Continued ISO 9001:2008/2015 certification as a result of third-party audit.
  • Successfully contribute to the development of the Internal Audit function of Human Appeal that will provide assurance at organisational level to all Human Appeal managers in the UK and globally.
  • Assist in the successful monitoring on the effectiveness of Human Appeals risk management and internal control environment, including GDPR and Fraud.
  • Contribute to an internal strategy, audit plans and methodologies.
  • Assist in providing real-time assurance to Human Appeal teams in line with SLA and successfully mitigating risks.
  • Contribute to the development of fit for purpose and risks mitigated Human Appeal policies, procedures and systems.
  • Agree terms of reference, presenting the findings and following up on recommendations and agreed action plans.
What were looking for in our Quality Manager:
  • Auditor qualification with relevant experience. Degree level ideally. Membership of CIIA.
  • 3-5 Years of Experience
  • MS Office Suite, computer literate
  • Fluent English essential; Additional languages desirable e.g. French, Arabic, Urdu
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
