Job Description

Goodman Masson have partnered with a leading Insurance business based in London to assist with their search for a highly experienced Senior Manager, Financial Reporting for an initial 6 month contract based out of their Chatham office a couple of days perweek.You will be responsible for the financial reporting for the the Lloyds Market. This role will manage a medium sized team and work with the Accounting function, other Central Finance teams and business functions to deliver high quality financial reportingwithin time lines and ensuring compliance with Lloyds policies and technical requirements.Main Responsibilities

  • Management of the financial reporting function and team
  • Responsible for the financial reporting for the Consolidated Society and subsidiaries in accordance with UK GAAP accurately and within time lines
  • Preparation of the half year financial statements and annual reports
  • Developing presentations and technical accounting papers to the Audit Committee
  • Work closely with Central Finance teams (including Regulatory Reporting, Investor Relations and FP&A), Markets, Corporate Secretariat and business functions and the Lloyds Market to deliver financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain a financial reporting risk register
  • Develop staff in understanding the business, processes, performance of tasks, controls and risks
  • Drive process and system improvements (including ledger) to increase efficiencies in the financial reporting function
  • Provide support to the Accounting function to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and technical accounting requirements and to maintain internal controls
  • Day to day management of a medium sized team of 4 with flexible resources of 4-6 persons to meet peak reporting requirements on a quarterly basis
Skills & Experience
  • Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA or CIMA) plus 10 years PQE experience or qualified by experience
  • Extensive financial reporting experience in an international, complex business
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS
  • Strong knowledge of relevant statutory & regulatory requirements in the UK
  • Experience in a Group Head Office function and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in ledger implementation or significant ledger improvements
  • People Management
