Job Description

Finance Data AnalystFinance Data Analyst - £330 Per Day - 3 month contract - Home based. My client a rapidly growing financial services company in Chatham, Kent, are looking for a Finance Data Analyst for a short term project creating a new process for cash forecasts and reconciliations, supported by Service Desk Supervisor and Cash Logistics Manager. This requires setting up a process for the recording of cash movements between different parts of the business. You will be required to deliver daily, weekly and monthly reports and will work with technology project and product teams on initial launch reporting for new digital products. You will report development, assisting in the transition of excel based reporting into an automated Power BI environment / DatawarehouseDuties include, but are not limited to, the below tasks:

  • Work with other support and IT teams to improve and automate reporting across the business to allow improvements in operational and commercial analysis
  • Provision of data for cash forecasting to ensure cash resources are tightly controlled and optimised
  • Set up daily checks and cash reconciliations for movements of cash, initially generating all data required for monthly financial reporting automating and streamlining processes where appropriate
  • Ownership for Daily Performance reporting
  • Assist Accountant and CFO with creation and maintenance of routine monthly landlord reporting
  • Build relationships and trust across the management team, with customers and other third parties including key suppliers and commercial partners, and members of regulatory organisations
  • Apply the best practices and appropriate IT and physical security levels, policies and procedures in accordance with company guidelines
  • Comply with all Health & Safety requirements
  • Attend training as required to maintain personal qualification/competence
    • Person Specification Requirements:
  • Sound computer literacy with very strong excel skills (Pivot tables and Charts, and excel formulas e.g. VLOOKUP / SUMIF / INDEX / MATCH)
  • Use of Power BI, or similar reporting dashboards / applications would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. Good working knowledge of other Microsoft products (Powerpoint / Word) desirable
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow existing processes is essential
  • Some financial background would be useful but is not essential
  • Highly motivated, organised, proactive, capable of working autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Able to work remotely from home or travel to the Medway office as required
