Job Description

Azure Administration EngineerA highly reputable financial services corporation is hiring an Azure Administration Engineer who has strong capabilities in provisioning and monitoring new cloud accounts utilising tools such as Kubernetes / Azure Security (IAM) and Splunk / Grafana. You willbe responsible for the deployment and configuration of controls in relation to cloud infrastructure shared component across multiple projects in relation to multi-site cloud transformation programme. Our client is paying a basic salary of up to £60,000 + 15%bonus to be based in either Chatham or Wolverhampton on a hybrid basis. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance in the administration of access and accounts, reporting and reconciliation of the Cloud usage and billing to provide transparency at a business/hub and project level, and also recommending optimization strategiesto proactively manage the costs of our client during their exciting transformation programme. The chosen candidate will also have an opportunity to gain further training and learning paths in Microsoft Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals / Control Azure spending and billing / Introduction to Kubernetes on Azure. Core responsibilities:

• Responsible for new account provisioning, which controls the deployment and configuration of cloud infrastructure shared components via Kubernetes and managing compliance and consistency across the evolving hybrid cloud environment
• Reporting of Cloud usage (Account, subscription, Project and Kubernetes levels), billing and costs to the application and finance teams. Also providing advice and guidance on optimizing and reducing costs by proactively analysing cloud resource cost optimisationrecommendations from tools provided by the cloud service provider
• Manage overall cloud economics and utilization, help develop cloud adoption business cases and drive value optimization and benefit realization
• Ensuring that the Cloud tagging strategy is enforced, governed (under change logs) and maintained
• Using technical knowledge and expertise to input into easily consumable MI and the development of an automated self-service Cloud consumption dashboard for use by key business stakeholders
• Member of Cloud Centre of Excellence team to produce infrastructure solutions that provide optimal Business and Customer outcomes, whilst maintaining the required commercial and strategic focus

Core skill set:

• Equivalent of 5 years previous experience implementing & managing Azure infrastructure to meet the business needs is essential
• Equivalent of 5 years previous experience in monitoring & management of Azure platforms & associated supporting applications is essential
• Equivalent of 5 years previous experience in technical support for Azure technologies is essential
• Strong Knowledge of MS Azure account structure, subscriptions and management groups is essential
• Strong Knowledge of MS Azure Security (i.e. IAM), Cost Management module, Advisor and other MS Azure Core Services is essential
• Strong Knowledge of monitoring & dashboard products (Splunk, Grafana etc.) is essential
• Strong knowledge of Azure AD is essential
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
