Job Description

About the roleAre you someone who is fascinated about business, likes people, is full of curiosity, with a positive attitude then we may have an opportunity just for youWe are looking for a qualified accountant who enjoys audit to join our growing Audit and Corporate team. As an Audit Senior in Kent, your office base can be either Chatham or Canterbury - plus we offer hybrid working which involves working 3 days in theoffice, and 2 from home. Our clients are based all over Sussex, Kent and London and you will have plenty of opportunities to get involved with a mix of clients and sectors including not for profit in our ever expanding Audit and Corporate team.Your role primarily will be to lead a team of Auditors and to manage audits from planning to completion for a range of our clients. You will also have exposure to compiling accounts as well as corporate tax returns. You will be responsible for leading andtraining Audit Juniors and reviewing their work. You will also assist the managers and partners with running their portfolios.Key duties:

  • Implementation of all allocated client audit work ensuring effective team workflow
  • Arrange & lead audit planning meetings, and briefing meetings
  • Preparation or delegation of key client audit work in line with agreed budget
  • Monitor work progress and ensure appropriate levels of communication with all clients and stakeholders
  • Act as a key point of contact for nominated clients during audit field work
  • Supervise semi seniors & assistants who are involved in production and delivery of audit work
  • Ensure clear task plans & milestones for each piece of audit work
  • Provide feedback to all team members involved in specific audit work on adherence to standards
  • Provide appropriate training to new starters and more junior team members where appropriate
  • Support the Audit team in delivering the required departmental incremental fee target
  • Contribute to business pitches, articles & webinar content
