Job Description

REQUIRED IMMEDIATELY: Special Needs Teaching assistant

  • Chatham
  • To start 24 February 2020 or as soon as possible for the right candidate
  • 31 hrs per week - term time only (post would suit someone looking for school based hours)
    • 1-1 Special needs Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
  • The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be working with a KS3 student.
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour and an understanding of complex learning disabilities would be essential.
  • Will be supporting learning and the individuals needs.
  • Building students confidence.
  • Be able to effectively manage students behaviour and understand triggers.
  • Be able to actively promote and assist safe learning.
  • You will ensure all students can thrive and fully develop their social, cognitive and emotional skills.
    • For this SEND Teaching Assistant position it is ideal if you are:
  • Qualified with a relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification and/or SEND care qualifications.
  • Must have a good knowledge and understanding of challenging behaviour.
  • Qualified in Positive Handling Training.
