Set in the splendour of the Somerset countryside the Old Farmhouse is a unique service offering supporting living support to six individuals aged between 33 and 64 who reside in their own individual accommodation. They all have severe learning difficulties and autism, and are supported day and night with their every day needs and activities. The people we support are actively engaged and encouraged to be involved in all aspects of their lives, and part of your job as a Support Worker will be to promote independence wherever possible.As a Support Worker at Old Farmhouse you will be involved in all aspects of the people we supports daily lives. Youll prepare food, assist with personal care and medication, and will also support someone out in the community. A large part of your role is done on a one to one basis, so you will have plenty of time to build meaningful, positive relationships with the person you are supporting.We do so much more than just food preparation and personal care though, and the people we support love a wide variety of activities including going on long drives and walks through the local town and countryside, going people watching, singing, and visiting family members wherever possible.We enjoy cups of tea, going out to get nails painted, trips to local cafes, Western films and getting a head massage here.
