Job Description

Stores & Logistics ManagerSSJ10052Chard, SomersetFull time, permanentOne of my highly valued customers based near our Chard office is currently hiring for a Stores / Logistics Manager. This role is a full time and permanent opportunity.The company is a subsidiary of a global manufacturer of transportation equipment with a market leading foothold in their sector. They export their products around the world and pick up some really exciting contracts to work on.You will be working in a purpose built facility and work with some colleagues with a passion for the work that they do.Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the business’ stores and surrounding areas
  • Management of daily activities of goods in, storage areas management, kitting for in house shops, pick, pack, goods despatch and stock checking
  • Responsible for the welfare, resources and the efficient working of the stores
  • Implementation & management of a structured, measurable gated logistics process which supports the business requirements. Ensuring a disciplined application of the process and the integrity of stores related transaction in the company ERP system.
  • Management of throughput KPIs to be displayed and monitored daily as part of the logistics visual management
  • Training of staff in logistics process & corresponding transactions in the company ERP system. Embrace and implement lean manufacturing methods / tools
  • Ensuring all activities undertaken are compliant to HSQE legislation and company procedure
  • Management of visual management in all stores areas
  • Stores transition projects
    • Tasks
  • Attend a short daily board reviews
  • Identify staff training requirements
  • Measure and manage performance of team
  • Manage daily activities of goods in, storage areas management, kitting for in house shops, pick, pack, goods despatch and stock checking
  • Close liaison with internal customers / suppliers / stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely delivery to production and customers
  • Ensure all aspects of the process are in compliance with legislative requirements and regulations
  • Ensure that employees use the correct mandatory and task specific P.P.E.
  • Undertake performance management of individuals within your team
  • Regularly inspect equipment in use in their area to ensure that it is maintained and/ or calibrated.
    • Job conditions
  • 5hrs a week contract
  • Monday to Friday with early finish on Fridays.
  • Salary is extremely competitive and depending on experience.
