Quality Technician - Chard, Somerset - £25,000 to £29,000 - Plus benefits, pension and bonusMelbreck Technical are working with a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist equipment that is used in a multitude of industries throughout the world.Due to continued growth within the markets they support they are looking to expand their quality team and as such are looking to secure a Quality Technician to join them ASAP.Quality Technician - Role Overview:To provide support to the associated quality engineering function and support quality investigations and continuous improvement within the business and to meet the business site quality strategy.Support stability of production output in the machine shop, confirming adherence to processes and specifications by validating in-process measurements, and completing audit checking.Support ISIR validation, Calibration and Metrology, Improvement Activities and Projects. Carry out and support non-conformance root cause investigations covering both internal manufacture and initial supplier non-conformance disposition and notification and submission of 8D to suppliers.Quality Technician - Role Responsibilities:Ensure that any health and safety guidelines are followed Daily paperwork auditing production documentation for completeness and accuracy, plus checking gauge calibration / fitness for useDimensional reports to support ppap activity (including programming)Programming measuring equipment, e.g., Micro Vu, Mitutoyo roundness, Taylor Hobsons100% inspection / verification of safety critical components.Measurement ISIRs plus verification of production output. Internal manufactureLiaising with production management team members on specific issues and action follow upFault findings / problem solving - soft turn hard turn grind. Guidance on potential corrective action opportunities and continuous improvement opportunities.Attendance of the MRB and supporting disposition in co-ordination with the relevant Q/E.Maintaining appropriate records.Supporting of and attendance of Zero-Defect quality projects.Quality Technician - Candidate Requirements:Practical mechanical experience and preferably with a manufacturing biasKnowledge of checking and inspection processes relating to stores, goods inwards, machining, deburr, heat treat, plating, assembly, and test is desirable.
