Job Description

Working for a world leading manufacturing business, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your teeth into a new challenge.As the Junior Buyer you will be responsible for guaranteeing Purchasing performance for the commodities. Reporting in to the Purchasing Lead and part of a team of 5 you will be accountable for the following:

  • Manage the supplier base in order to obtain the necessary improvements to achieve the above and protect the company against unfavourable market trends
  • Not only guarantee the best "total cost of ownership" but also challenge the organisation to ensure the above is met during tender reviews.
  • Define and lead the best local commodity strategy
  • Monitor supplier performance and hold regular reviews
  • Challenge pricing and negotiate cost savings
  • Rationalize the supplier panel to keep only the best suppliers. Develop and maintain a world-class supplier base according to the group’s guidelines and principles
  • Guarantee that every Purchase Order is placed in the negotiated contracts accordingly to decision made
