Job Description

Purchasing AssistantProcurement & Supply Chain,Head Office, ChaddertonWork from home roleWill be required to return to office eventuallyTo deliver management support to the purchasing manager and departments of purchasing activities and for ensuring optimal supplier performance and lowest procurement spend. Administration management to support the supply chain from tenders, contract managementto supplier reviews whilst the goal to reduce and mitigate risk in the supply chain.Supporting the Purchasing Manager on delivering business strategy through the supply chain working towards increasing profitability move to Role Purpose. This is a fantastic opportunity where you can grow and develop a long career in Procurement!Key Parts Of The Role

  • To support and ensure that all suppliers where necessary are screened to ensure that they meet the standard expected by the company in terms of policies and procedures whilst maintaining regulations and controls
  • To monitor and report on product and services spend through analysis from internal systems ensuring that we can demonstrate to the business a wider support towards EBITDA
  • To conduct regular stability checks on key and critical suppliers to ensure that they do not affect the day to day operations of the busines
  • To ensure that working with the H&S teams and wider community that suppliers are verified and authenticated to deliver services
  • To maintain close links with the keys departments (operations, sales) supporting requirements on an ongoing basis
  • To work collaboratively and effectively with all business units to support requirements across the various businesses
  • To proactively manage the purchase order approvals through the business ensuring spend is approved before proceeding to order whilst managing the system to advise of upcoming end of life contract with a notice period
  • Working with operations and sales to understand upcoming requirements of key items to support Capex
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a sales focused / customer services / support function required
  • Working in a fast-moving environment where meeting deadlines and exceeding business objectives is part of the day-to-day
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point skills is a must have.
  • Must be able to work with numbers clearly and be able to understand the core figure on the businesses mind EBITDA
  • Able to work under pressure whilst dealing effectively with multi-tasks and maintaining control / integrity
  • Although travel is not a requirement currently a driving licence may be required in the future as the role develops, so a current holder or learning towards passing the driving tests.
