Job Description

WR Fundraising Recruitment is delighted to be working with a growing mental health charity?s developing fundraising team.We have an exciting Major Donor Fundraising vacancy for an experienced major gifts fundraiser or high level account manager to lead on major donor fundraising - responsible for a high value and diverse portfolio of fundraising partners, major donors and HNWI?s.At an exciting time of development, we are looking for a philanthropy / major donor fundraising professional to assist Head of Philanthropy to deliver the Major Donor strategy by researching, cultivating and developing relationships with major individuals to maximise income from existing and new supporters.Major Donor / Philanthropy Manager Permanent, Full time Central LondonUp to £42,000 per annum on experienceFlexible working encourages and home working offered where appropriate Duties will include:

  • Directly manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, develop donor plans and ensure donors are effectively approached, cultivated, asked and stewarded.
  • Develop and drive forward new Major Donor initiatives in conjunction with the Head of Philanthropy
  • Attend key major donor and other fundraising events
  • Expand the pool of major donors, developing relationships from research and identification of prospects through to securing of first and further gifts.
  • Harness the support of Trustees and other senior volunteers as well as senior staff in order to identify prospects, approach them and cultivate their relationship
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider Fundraising department, in order to identify new leads for major giving.
  • Draw up and implement plans for cultivation of prospects and stewardship of existing donors which serve to engage them and keep them updated on charity developments
    • The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience of major donor fundraising or high level account management with demonstrable success in bringing in at least 5 figure gifts and multi-year pledges
  • Proven experience of proactively developing new major donor fundraising initiatives
  • Experience of developing relationships
  • Relevant experience of controlling budgets
  • Database management and profiling experience
