Job Description

IT Support Analyst is sought by a company that plays a key role in influencing education policies. The largest of its kind in the UK, the company is driven by its commitment to making education a great industry to work in. This is a Fixed Tern Contract until 31st December 2020.The Role:Reporting to the Helpdesk Manager, youll be responsible for providing frontline technical support to system users. Your duties will include:

  • Providing effective frontline technical support and advice to system users
  • Troubleshooting support issues to resolution, or escalate as appropriate
  • Ensuring proper recording and updating of all requests for support in the helpdesk system
  • Configuring user devices (PCs, laptops, telephones, printers, etc.)
  • Creating, modifying and managing user accounts and access to IT systems
  • Routine system checks and tasks as directed carrying out system backups and restore
  • Liaising with external suppliers as directed or as necessary to support successful resolution of user support issues
  • Participating in IT projects as and when required
  • Creating and maintaining documentation on processes, user guides relating to key areas of work, and contribute to the maintenance of the helpdesk database and solutions library
    • The successful IT Support Analyst should have most of the following:
  • Well-developed experience in a similar IT Support environment
  • Degree or equivalent further education in a relevant discipline
  • Good working knowledge of IT systems / packages e.g. Microsoft Office 2016 Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, MS Project, Visio), Office 365, Active Directory, VPN, Antivirus Software, Database systems
  • Knowledge of Freshdesk would be highly beneficial
  • Ability to create and maintain user accounts across a range of back-end systems e.g. ActiveDirectory / Azure
  • Ability to set up and configure a range of user devices e.g. PCs, laptops, telephones, printers
  • MCP MCSE or equivalent experience is desirable
  • Ability to maintain up to date records and accurate data in electronic and hard copy systems
  • Experience of using judgement and ability to make decisions within accepted parameters
  • Clear and approachable telephone manner and strong communication skills
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely e.g. for the purpose of preparing user guidance documents, or creation and maintenance of documentation on processes
  • Ability to successfully manage relations with external suppliers
