Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer to join our General Radiology department team, based at The London Clinic main hospital in London, W1G 6BW (close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).The London Clinic was established in 1932 and we have 8 premises located in the heart of London’s medical community. We are dedicated to providing the best, personalised healthcare with a breadth of surgical and medical expertise.Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, and has a state-of-the-art imaging department providing diagnostic services which range from General radiology through to complex Interventional procedures. We have a dedicated Breast imaging suite as well as our modern Nuclear Medicine department. This is in addition to our busy CT, MR and Ultrasound disciplines which are sited across the main building and satellite areas of The London Clinic campus.Job DescriptionThe Band 6 Radiographer will assist in the provision of an efficient Diagnostic Imaging service and it is essential that applicants can demonstrate post graduate experience in General, Theatre and Mobile x-ray imaging. Angiography, Fluoroscopy and Breast Imaging experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts: 7.5 hour daily shifts; Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required.
  • Salary: The salary range for this role is £35,880 - £47,875, depending on skills & experience.

    • Duties & Responsibilities
  • Utilise department protocols to undertake imaging procedures to a consistently high standard.
  • Inform patients, carers and other members of staff about all imaging procedures, examination preparation and aftercare in a timely, and professional way.
  • Provide imaging in the angiography suite after full training, and assist in interventional procedures under clinical supervision.
  • Maintain the Continuing Professional Development process, and to maintain awareness of current and new techniques.
  • Play an integral role in the implementation of PACS under supervision of more senior staff.
  • Take an active role in Quality Assurance, audit and research projects under the direction of more senior staff.
    • Skills & Experience
  • HCPC registered, with a BSc in Radiography or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in all general, theatre and mobile imaging and fluoroscopy procedures both at student and post graduate level
  • Familiar with PACS, RIS and HIS systems.
  • Good understanding of legislation relating to Radiation Protection, Infection Control and Health and Safety.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Articulate, enthusiastic and flexible, with the ability to work well under pressure, and as part of the multidisciplinary team.
