Job Description

Toolmaker / Manual TurnerCastle BromwichContract - Inside IR35Double Day ShiftToolmaker / Manual Tuner required to join a leading Manufacturing Engineering department in Castle Bromwich on an ongoing contract paying £30.85 per hour (Umbrella PAYE).Our client is a world leading automotive manufacturer of high valued motor vehicles. Working to reimagine the future of modern luxury by design through two of the worlds most iconic brands our client is redefining the benchmark for excellence by using theskills and creativity of its people to translate, plan and implement engineering outputs to uphold sophisticated vehicle manufacturing that others want to follow.The Toolmaker will be working in a manufacturing machine shop environment working from 2D Engineer Drawings to manually machine a range of materials to create specialised one-off parts, tooling as well as the assembly of these parts and components.The successful Toolmaker will be confident in setting and operating manual lathes, specifically Colchester central lathes, as well as have full knowledge in all areas of turning including external and internal threads of all types. Grinding experience wouldalso be beneficial for this varied position.THE IDEAL TOOLMAKER:

  • Have experience in a toolmaking / machining environment
  • Be experienced working on Manual Colchester Central Lathes.
  • Be able to work to read and interpret 2D engineer drawings.
  • Have experience in all aspects of manual turning.
  • Experience on Grinding machinery would be beneficial.
  • Have knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, C.O.S.H and environmental procedures.
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working hours as overtime may be required.
WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week.Rotating Shift Pattern1-week rotationShift 1: Monday to Thursday 6.00am14.00pm & Friday 6.00am11.00amShift 2: Monday to Thursday 14.00pm22.00pm & Friday 10.45am15.45pmPay:Shift Pay: £30.85 per hour (Umbrella PAYE)Overtime rates apply.
