Job Description

We are currently working with an outstanding SEN school in Sutton who are seeking an ICT Teacher.SEMH - ICT TeacherHours - 8:00am - 3:00pm

  • The successful candidate will mainly be working in Secondary, but would have some contact with the Primary pupils too.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience or an interest in working with children with SEMH and behavioural difficulties, either in a mainstream or special/PRU school environment.
The Key duties of the Computing/ICT Teacher:
  • Teaching Computing/ICT work within the school, developing schemes of work in accordance with school policy and external requirements.
  • Oversee the resources of the department, being responsible for ordering and controlling materials and other equipment.
  • Be responsible for the budget of the department, planning and controlling expenditure.
  • Oversee and monitor the accuracy of external examination entries, working effectively with the Examinations Officer and Assistant Headteacher responsible for data.
  • Taking responsibility for the progress of all pupils within the subject area.
  • Planning, preparing and teaching lessons that cater for a range of needs within the class.
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
  • Preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development.
  • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils development.
  • Providing regular feedback to parents/carers on a pupils progress.
  • Working with others to plan and coordinate work.
  • Keeping up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
  • Organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities.
  • Working with parents/carers and school governors to maximise their involvement in the school.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Or equivalent experience within this area
  • Multi Skilled approach i.e. Digital Technology, Media Knowledge and Understanding
  • A knowledge of strategies that enable the teacher to differentiate lessons for mixed ability pupils.
