Applications are invited to join the Blood Sciences team in the provision of Point of Care Testing Services across Epsom and St Helier hospitals in a part time position as a Healthcare Associate Practitioner.Our Hospitals are based in the Greater London area, with easy access to the centre of London and the Surrey countryside. The Trust is a large University Teaching District General Hospital which includes the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit. Our Laboratories across both sites provide a comprehensive range of automated and manual investigations. The Laboratory is home to the the South West Thames Regional Newborn Screening Programme; processing approximately 50,000 samples per annum.This is an exciting opportunity to help develop and expand the point of care testing services across the Trust. As part of a team you will be expected to support the instruments based in various areas of the hospitals across site after comprehensive training and will include visiting areas of the hospital treating patients who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. As such you will be provided with training in the appropriate use of PPE within these areas, and will follow strict risk assessments to ensure the safety of yourself and others. The role will involve working closely with other members of the Blood Sciences team, and wider clinical and non-clinical staff in different areas of the Trust.The Point of Care department utilises a wide range of analytical equipment including:
