Job Description

With a strong focus on the future, sustainability and innovation – we keep moving forwards.About the role:Are you an experienced HGV Shunter looking for your next opportunity Are you looking forguaranteedhours and the opportunity to work overtimeWe’re looking for a Shunter to join our team inCarrington. Based on a50hour week, various shifts on offer.You’ll be supporting our depot by loading and unloading onsite trailers in a safe manner following all site procedures to a satisfactory conclusion.COVID-19 precaution(s):

  • Remote interview process
  • Personal protective equipment provided or required Plastic shield at work stations
  • Social distancing guidelines in place
  • Virtual meetings
  • Sanitisation, disinfection / cleaning procedures in place
  • What your day will look like:
  • To carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks prior to commencement of shift complying with appropriate documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure vehicle load is safe, secure and correctly positioned.
  • Correctly check and accept load documentation and delivery paperwork.
  • Correctly check in any returned goods and ensure paperwork is accurate.
  • Maintain communication at all times with the Traffic Office.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, using all equipment safely as specified in operating procedures.
  • Operate vehicle safely, ensuring driver actions do not endanger self or other road users.
  • Comply with safe working practices at all times.
  • Undertake any other reasonable job instruction to support the supply of a quality service to the customer.
  • Rachet, strap and corner management.

  • What we need from you:
  • A full UK C+E licence(Preferred)
  • Previous experience in a shunting role preferred
  • Self motivated individual
  • Dedicated flexible and reliable.
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Excellent customer relations.
