Job Description

JOBToolmakerLOCATION-CardiffTERM- PermanentSALARY- £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience My client is a Manufacturer in Product Development. They are looking for a Toolmaker to join their team in the Cardiff area on a permanent basis.The Toolmaker will ideally have the following attributes:

  • NVQ, BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC, HND qualified in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or similar ideally
  • Previous experience working in a similar environment as a Toolmaker
  • Be aware of current moulding and manufacturing processes
  • Be able to produce work to close tolerances
  • Be proficient with using a variety of hands on tools and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
The Toolmaker role will involve:
  • Tool repairs, maintenance and manufacture
  • Manufacturing all work as specified by Tool Order Requests
  • Reading from engineering drawings
  • Working to BS 208 drawing standards
  • Inspecting all work before passing on to the next stage of manufacture
  • Complying to all Health & Safety requirements
