Job Description

We are working with a public sector organisation in Cardiff who are looking for a Technical Operator. The role will be responsible for operation and maintenance of sludge screening, sludge imports, centrifuges, odour control, Cambi™ process, water treatment, steam boilers, CHP and Gas to Grid plant, digestion process, return liquor treatment, thermally hydrolysed sludge dewatering and sludge export.This is what you’ll be doing

  • Shift pattern is 4 days or 4 nights and 4 days off, each comprising of 12 hours
  • Shadowing and assisting external maintenance engineers
  • Proactively carrying out planned maintenance and operational checks to time and required standards.
  • Identifying problematic plant and the subsequent faults, rectifying where possible and escalating to Operations Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Report writing
    • The experience you’ll bring to the team
  • Experience in water treatment works would be advantageous
  • Willingness to learn and develop on the job
  • Hands on maintenance experience
